Abstract
In the omnimedia era, hosts face challenges in transitioning from traditional media to new media. How to maintain professional competence and demonstrate cross-platform communication abilities in a multimedia convergence context has become crucial. Based on a case analysis of the 2023 CCTV Hosts Competition, this paper explores the core competencies and qualities that hosts should possess in the new era, constructing a competency model for hosts in the omnimedia age. The research finds that hosts not only need traditional language expression and information delivery skills but also cross-platform adaptability, personalized expression, and technology application abilities. This paper provides a theoretical basis for broadcasting and hosting arts education and talent cultivation.
